The sage continues. The crowd today was the largest ever. People came prepared with mats and lunch packs. It was also a reunion ground for many that were in attendance: old school mates, etc.

Photos of MASS PROTEST AGAINST THE REMOVAL OF FUEL SUBSIDY: DAY 1

My head aches. I’m so tired. If you had inhaled the marijuana I inhaled today, you’ll be as tired as I am now. Don’t get me wrong, it was the marijuana being smoked by some of the area boys protesting at Ojota today. It was something else. Most people didn’t expect that type of turnout from citizens. The last time the streets of Lagos where this empty on a monday morning was probably during the strikes that happened in Ibrahim Babangida’s regime.

I was one of the photographers that arrived before 9am. BBC, Associated Press & every major tv station in Nigeria were present (AIT, NTA,TVC, & CHANNELS). Present at the protest were celebrities from Nollywood and the music industry (Jide Kosoko, 9ice, Femi Kuti, Seun Kuti just to mention a few). Almost everyone was chanting the removal of one that has recently been named the “most cursed president” of our time, JONATHAN GOODLUCK. The protest continues tomorrow and we’ll be there to cover it. Cameras used were olympus e500 with 14-42mm lens & olympus e520 with 50-200mm SWD lens. Enough of my story, let the pictures tell you what went down.
